The Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K features a 4/3" sensor for capturing up to 4096 x 2160 DCI 4K images at rates up to 60 fps in a variety of codecs including CinemaDNG Raw/Raw 3:1/Raw 4:1, and various ProRes 422 options. Slow-motion rates up to 120 fps are available in cropped Full HD. Its Micro Four Thirds lens mount accommodates the original, lightweight Pocket Cinema Camera lenses, and can be used with PL, C, EF, and other lenses with the use of separately available adapters. A dual-native ISO up to 25,600 is featured for low-light capture, and 13 stops of dynamic range provide rich HDR images.

Record using the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots, or employ the USB-C output for capturing longer clips to an external drive. The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K's 5" touchscreen LCD display reduces the need for an external, onboard monitor, while a full-sized HDMI port enables you to output a signal to a larger display. The menu and interface are the same as the ones found on the URSA Mini camera, and 3D LUTs can be applied for monitoring or for baking in your look when you're ready to commit.

Audio features include a mini-XLR input with phantom power for pro-style mics, a 3.5mm jack, and an internal stereo mic. Additional features include the same Blackmagic OS as the URSA Mini, and Bluetooth remote control. A license key for DaVinci Resolve Studio is included for versatile post-production control. The Pocket Cinema Camera 4K's carbon fiber polycarbonate build provides lightweight strength and durability, and power options include running off a Canon LP-E6 type battery or the included power supply.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cant wait This tool will serve me well I do a lot of social media videos and photos. This will make my job easier. Not having a retractable screen is a downer but not a deal breaker. There are plenty of evfs at good prices. Cant wait

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Incredible Value, but Lacking Something Imperative I really feel that Blackmagic has outdone themselves with this camera.Itwill provide more value per dollar than any other video camera on the market. However, it is lacking one of the mostcriticalfeatures that every small form factor camera on the market should have: a flip LCD screen. There is absolutely no reason why anysmall form factor camera these days shouldn't have a flip LCD. Filmmakers of all disciplines benefit from them, and have come to depend on them. How are vloggers supposed to frame their shots? How are videographers supposed to grab low angle shots? This camera is incredibly versatile, but that versatility is destroyed by its lack of a flip LCD.Almost every other DSLR on the market has one, and the fact that this camera is lacking it will undeniably take a toll on its sales. I know a lot of filmmakers including myself who will have to opt for the GH5 simply because this feature is lacking.Yes, having 4k, 10bit, 60fps, RAW is absolutely incredible, but at the end the day if I can't get the shot because I can't even see what the heck I'm shooting, forget 4k, 10bit, and slow motion, because I won't even have the shot I need. I'm sure countless other filmmakers will agree, this really is a dealbreaker. If the camera had just this one feature, I will absolutely be sold. But the fact that it doesn't is crushing. Blackmagic, you are a great company, but I'm willing to bet tens ofthousands of filmmakers would be willing to waitforalater release date, if it means a flip LCD can become a feature of this camera. It will fly off the shelvesso much fasterif youimplement this. We're begging you Blackmagic, please.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome mirrorless cinema camera! Was so privileged to use a test beta camera sent to me for free by Blackmagic and I have to say: this camera is out of this world!! It really does putt he GH5/2 into the shade. I can't say too much about it but you will love it folks!! The only con for me would be the lack of a Super 16 crop, but we can hope BMD will implement that in a future firmware update. Beautiful RAW images it has produced. I love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I Love You Blackmagic, But You're Bringing Me Down Let me just say up front, I am practically a Blackmagic fanboy. There is just something about the "look" of the image that resonates with me. I still own the original BMCC and I pre-ordered the original pocket camera when that was first announced, so I was very excited about this new pocket camera. Unfortunately, now that more details have been released, I can see at a glance that this camera just won't fit my needs. As much as I want to love this camera, without an articulated screen it is useless to me. That's it. It's a little big for a "pocket" camera, but I don't mind that. Really what it comes down to is, I can't imagine a situation where I wouldn't be better off with a GH5. I have several practical reasons for saying that, but truly it comes down the the articulated screen. That one issue is a total deal breaker. I'm not writing this review to spitefully flame Blackmagic Design. It is more of a desperate plea to please, please, please address my needs as a videographer. Their cameras make great images, but when it comes to operating a camera I know what works for me and what doesn't, and this camera just won't work. I'll leave you with this. I have a sort of delusional hope that someone at Blackmagic will read this review and realize that I am right about the screen. Maybe some likeminded videographers will join me in my useless whinging and together we shall be heard. Then maybe they will delay the release so they can fix it. Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time I preordered a Blackmagic camera and had to suffer through delays, but if only they would fix the screen issue, I would suffer with a smile :)
