FotodioX M42-SNYE-V2 Overview

Make use of select M42-mount lenses on your Sony Alpha E-mount camera with this Lens Mount Adapter from FotodioX. Precision-crafted out of hardened anodized aluminum, the adapter provides a secure and solid camera-to-lens connection. Additionally, it supports focusing to infinity.

Lens Compatibility
If the aperture pin of your M42-mount lens depresses all the way down, your lens is considered type 2 and this V2 lens mount adapter is compatible with it.

However, if your M42-mount lens has no aperture pin, tabs, or levers; or if it has an aperture pin that does not fully depress (small tabs stick out), it is considered a type-1 lens and is compatible with V1 adapters (available separately).

Opens Up Interesting Possibilities

I used this to mount my Mamiya Sekor 55mm f1.8 onto a Sony A7 IV. It allowed me to finally view the optical quality of the lens through a modern day sensor. The adapter is about as basic as it gets, but for the price is a no brainer.

Will Not Infinity Focus

Have found that I cannot focus to infinity with all three M42 lenses that I own (Westromat 50mm/1.9, Mayima-Sekor 28mm/2.8, and no-name 200mm/4.5) with this adapter and my Sony 7c. All lenses hit their hard stop just before reaching focus at far distances. Seems that barrel needs to be about 2-3 mm shorter to allow true focus. Would recommend a shorter adapter for this camera and/or these lenses.

As long as the version of the Revuenon lens has the M42 mount and you want to attach it to an E mount camera that lens should work with that adapter. Note lens as well as the adapter too is all manual. So no autofocus, f/stops are controlled from the lens not the camera. And you need to use the camera in manual.

Does anyone know how to remove this adapter from a Zenit Helios 44m-4? My lens is locked on and will not unscrew.

Original author here. Correct, it does not lock. I finally got it off. I just had to put in more force than I wanted to. It seems the paint on the adapter flange is a little sticky/tacky. So, it formed a tight grab to the lens. Once off, it goes on and off again smoothly. No issues.
