WD Desktop Reviews

Reliable Affordable Storage

First off, it was a really great deal given how expensive digital storage has gotten lately. Like any other storage drives we just needed to reformat to exFat, and because they're disk drives I use them more for backup file storage, not for actually editing directly from.

Exactly what I wanted, transactions as promised by B&H

I'm archiving music and photos and wanted a large, simple, no-nonsense external hard drive for storage. The WD 6TB Elements desktop hard drive suits my needs perfectly. B&H handled and shipped the order smoothly as promised, and the plug and play hard drive (with security options) worked perfectly. Very happy and more comfortable than storing everything on a cloud.

My desktop Mac is 6 years old. I have all my photos on one of four drives. I want to make a copy onto an external drive and use that in future. What should I use for this?
Asked by: Linda
It's a good choice, but because I didn't know if it would do what I bought it for, I made compact discs of all my photos. Sounds bothersome, but my wife and I had a wonderful time reminiscing as we went through all the pictures and made a fun project out of it. It took a little while (8,000+ pics) but we had a great time reminiscing and sorting the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids and pet photos so we had some nice moments to pass out at Christmas that year! All the photos are still on the WD8TB drive in great shape and we keep adding new pics so the next CD will be seamlessly updated with current history. I would strongly recommend this product! SEE THE RESPONSE AFTER THIS ONE (not mine) BUT IMPORTANT!! Have fun!!
