Magnus MHA-01 Reviews
Do you have another that is damaged?
Somewhat well made but disappointed. There needs to be another screw mount on the opposite end. Somewhat useless without a 3rd 1/4-3/8 screw socket. Probable return.
This is a nice addition to my bag when out walking, it converts my monopod to a cane or a walking stick quickly and provides a little better handling than the monopod does without. As another review mentioned, it would be nice to have one more 3/8-16 socket at the top end to make it easier to mount a ball head when used in the vertical position.
A Useful Accessory
When afield I usually carry a trekking pole. Just one more thing to deal with. I saw this product and gave it a try. Attach a dedicated Arca-Swiss plate to the handle and your Mono-pod and you now have a quickly converted Mono-pod / Trekking pole. This handle comes with a 1/4-20 adapter for mounting (the internal threads are 3/8-16). It helps if you put some thread locker compound on the external adapter threads so that they don't loosen up in use.
Could be a rock star.
Nearly great. Missed opportunity. A third boss with 1/4 20tpi stud would enable a monopod not to need the handle removed, always a ***** nuisance. It would also facilitate a wrist strap, X country ski pole style. Will probably experiment. When used ski pole style, the boss will fit between first and second fingers. Good. Bit thick, less good. This some with a small inset screw which was needed to attach it to the oben stick. It is sturdy and works well. You can put in either the handle direction or the upright direction. Since there is an inset screw that must come off the use the stick with my camera, I will have to see how much of a hassle that is in the field.
I keep one of these in my photo bag as I get occasional and unexpected foot pain. It's great to be able to convert my monopod into a cane at the drop of a hat!
I got this handle as I'm experiencing on and off plantar fascitis. I don't need a cane full time, but it's nice to have one around the house or to take on trips should the condition flare up. This way, I don't need to carry a cane as well as a monopod.
very good and durable
