This is only listed as a Start/Stop recording cable. It does not provide power as well.

Will this work if you don't have the tilta cage? Can you plug this into the Arri Alexa mini 7 Pin ext port then go to the motor?

Yes, you can plug the Tilta Nucleus-M Run/Stop Cable for ARRI ALEXA Mini with Tilta Cage (B&H# TIRS02AM) into the Tilta Nucleus-M Wireless Lens Control System (B&H# TINUCLEUSM) and the LEMO 7-pin EXT port on the back of the ARRI ALEXA Mini Body with Pre-Installed Licenses for full 4:3, MXF/ARRIRAW, & Open Gate Functionality (B&H# ARK0.0010045).

Is this compatible with the earlier model Alexa's such as the Classic and Alexa Plus?

No, the Alexa Classic and Alexa Plus use a Fisher 3-pin RS port. This cable has two 7-pin LEMO type connectors.
