Samson SWXPD2HQ6 Overview

The XPD2 Handheld USB Digital Wireless Microphone System from Samson is a 2.4 GHz, portable dynamic Q6 handheld wireless microphone with a USB stick receiver. It can be used to capture audio for broadcast, presentation, and live sound applications and more.

The XPD2 offers simple setup, professional full-range audio, and 100' of wireless operation. The RXD2 USB stick receiver connects directly to Windows or Mac computers, or with any Samson Expedition Series portable PA system (sold separately) that features a USB wireless port. A 1/8" output allows for headphone monitoring or connection to any device with an analog line input, including smartphones and other mobile devices.

Furthermore, the XPD2 wireless delivers audio via digital transmission, which enables the HXD2 handheld microphone transmitter to send uncompressed signal to the receiver. The result is greater signal-to-noise when compared to a traditional wireless system, and a performance that sounds as good as using a wired microphone.

Perfect for Zoom meetings

We needed a microphone solution for our weekly hybrid (in person / Zoom) meetings. Use local audio in the room but the audio was not sufficient for Zoom when the laptop (with external camera) was 20-30' away from the speaker. Started with a Samson wired mic at the laptop but it picked up too much room noise (meetings are held during lunch) and didn't want to run a wire that someone could trip over. This wireless mic did the trick! Worked from the first time. Haven't used it enough to say how long the batteries last but we only use it 1 - 1 1/2 hours per week. I would definitely recommend this item if one mic is sufficient for your needs.

The Samson XPD2 Handheld is an awesome microphone. Your audio quality is amazing in the PC and iPhone. But ... My buy experience was terrible! I didn't was notified about taxes and tributes to my country (Brazil), and his Live Chat attendants was stupid with me. I'll think twice before to buy again.

A USB driver would be nice

The Microphone works will and range is fine in the meeting room I use. 30' X 50' I do need to use a analog 3.5mm cable to bring the audio into the analog input of my computer so I can adjust the volume. This is not the Microphones fault it is the problem with Microsoft USB driver. I wish Samson had their own driver.

How sensitive is this microphone? I need to be able to use this in a church service in which I need to pick up audio from as far away as 20 feet from where the microphone-not ideal, but we're trying to avoid using more than two mics. If these can be made to be omnidirectional, that would be great.

The microphone in the Samson XPD2 Handheld USB Digital Wireless Microphone System is designed to capture vocal signals with the source close to the capsule - preferably around an inch away. A handheld microphone, and most microphones for that matter, will not pick up a quality signal from a distance of twenty feet. In the scenario described, a second microphone close to the second source will provide more ideal results and sound capture.

I am a beginner who does interviews which beginner camera to record video would work great with this microphone? Or is it best to just re order from phone and which iPhone is suitable?
Asked by: Saeeda
This can work with a camcorder if you connect a 3.5 mm cable from the line out in the USB receiver and connect the other end of the cable to the camcorders mic input. you do need to provide USB power the receiver to function. Or you can plug in the USB receiver to a computer record the audio separately and align it later when editing the video ( harder but gets you better audio and less white noise in the background)

Asked by: Ram
Hello, Thank you for contacting Samson Technologies. This will definitely work with your iPhone X. You would need to use an Apple Certified Lightning to Camera USB adapter and from there, you would be good to go! If you have any other questions or inquiries, please let me know at any time. I record meetings and need something better than my Logitech Brio's internal microphone. would this work with my PC from 5-8 feet away and Logitech recording software?
Asked by: Gilbert
Yes! If you are 5 to 8 feet away from the wireless receiver then sure but if you are trying to record people that are more than 6 inches away from the microphone (handset) than you'd be better off with a shot gun Microphone.
