The 306P MkII includes a 6.5" woofer and 1" tweeter, and has a frequency range of 39 Hz to 24 kHz (at -10 dB). If your audio has a lot of content in the frequency range below 39 Hz, then you may want to use a subwoofer along with the studio monitors.

You could use it as a center channel in a compatible surround mixing set up, but you would not be able to connect it to a home AV receiver for the purpose of watching movies.

No, for that you would need analog line outs which they don't have.
