FUJIFILM XF 23mm f/2 R WR Lens (Black)

Designed as a compact, walk-around prime, the black XF 23mm f/2 R WR from FUJIFILM is a versatile 35mm-equivalent lens characterized by its f/2 maximum aperture that strikes and ideal balance between portability and speed. The optical design features two aspherical elements to reduce distortion and spherical aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating is also used to control flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in bright and backlit conditions. Complementing the optics is a stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, which provides quick and especially quiet focusing performance. Additionally, the lens is weather-sealed to suit working in inclement conditions.

Prime wide-angle lens is designed for APS-C-format FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 35mm equivalent focal length.
Bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field.

The Pro 43mm 98-UVATS UV Filter is one of Chiaro’s highest-rated protective UV filters with 98% light transmission. It’s ideal for photographers of all levels who demand high-quality glass and other essential features for excellent image fidelity and construction.

To achieve 98% light transmission, Chiaro uses highly-polished optical glass, multi-coating, and additional advanced elements that improve the filter’s light transmission. A scratch-resistant coating minimizes scratching of the glass and helps assure that water, oil, dust, and fingerprints are removed with a gentle wipe. Its hard-anodized aluminum filter ring is designed to screw on and off effortlessly, and it is thin to prevent vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses. Resistance Coating

It's Good BUT...

Updated review. After owning this lens for a year I sold out yesterday to purchase the Fujifilm 23mm f1.4 WR lens. The 23mm f2 WR is good for daylight and well lit conditions. It is very lightweight. In low light conditions or sunset photos I noticed the images were not sharp and very dark. For street photography try the Fujifilm 30mm f2.8 instead. It is lightweight, produces better colours and contrast than the 23mm f2, faster autofocus and handles low light conditions much better. I suggest get both the Fujifilm 23mm f/1.4 and the Fujifilm 30mm f/2.8 just move back with the 30mm to achieve the 23mm (35mm) look.

This lens was recommended to me when I was purchasing my xt30iii instead of the pancake lens, I tested both and figured this one would be a better start for my personal needs. A downside would be is it isn’t a zoom lens however, the B&H support staff made sure that was known when I was trying it out! I do wonder what that part of lens is meant to do now tho? Anywho, highly recommend!
