Godox V1 Reviews
This flash is dangerous

Godox V1s flash is hazardous and needs to be recalled. This is a very serious issue and should not be dismissed lightly.
The hot shoe sku# GOV1SHS is made of plastic and is easily fractured and detaches from the unit.
This has happened to me with the Adorama Flashpoint equivalent and the just last week with the Godox unit that I purchased from B+H in October 2022.
I ordered a replacement flash, and two hot shoes last week and installed the shoes on the older Godox and Flashpoint bodies. When I attached the hotshoe to the Godox flash there was an explosion and a flash of lightning two feet long from the junction. The camera and flash were in my lap. Fortunately the lightning bolt was not directed at my private parts. The camera Sony A7 purchased from BH this year needed to be reset to factory defaults to restore normal function. The flash has been rendered non functional and displays a message that says return for service.
There is a design flaw in the shoe, and furthermore the product is hazardous with potential for injury and even death. It needs to be withdrawn from your store and the overall market.
I am returning my recently purchased products for an in-store credit towards the purchase of a Sony flash but will retain the older Godox flash and hot shoe for evidence, and will send it to the manufacturer if requested. I have reported this the Consumer Product Safety Commission.
Excellent!

How can I secure this flash unit in a bracket to put into a softbox on a lightstand?
Asked by: Out d'Box
Most softboxes that are made for shoe mount flashes will come with the necessary speed ring by which to attach the flash to a stand. The Westcott Rapid Box Switch Octa-S Softbox 26" B&H # WE2521 and Westcott Rapid Box Switch / Beauty Dish Switch Insert for Profoto A1 Flash B&H # WE2540 would be some suitable options for you to use.

s the the Godox V1 flash compatible with the pocketwizard III for off camera flash?
Asked by: Skip
Above we see yes and we see no as an answer. But in the end, is the answer yes or no? I am ok with a manual setting. All I want is to use a pocket wizard transmitter attached to my camera and a receiver connected to the Godox V1 flash, just to trigger it. Manual settings, no TTL. Is that possible?
