GVM 50RS-RGB Overview

The 13.4 x 12.7 x 3" 50RS RGB LED Panel from GVM is a compact light source with a wide color range from a warm 3200K to daylight 5600K to meet any ambient light challenge, match other fixtures, or just for creative expression. The light's high CRI/TLCI rating of 95 is an indicator of accuracy in rendering color. You can make adjustments on the fixture but you can also make them wirelessly via a free iOS or Android App.

The 50RS has a wide 120-degree beam spread that can be narrowed with the light's four-way barndoors. Simply swing one or more of the barndoor's leaves into the path of the beam to light areas that you want to and keep light from areas that you don't want illuminated. The panel is dimmable too, from 0 to 100%. Featuring aluminum construction, the fixture has a yoke that allows 360-degree rotation for unlimited positioning options.

The 50RS runs on 110-220 VAC voltage using the included AC adapter, but it will also run on optional NP-F-type batteries when mains power is unavailable. The light comes with a soft filter and an A-frame diffuser to soften the bright LEDs' output. Additionally, a case that can withstand 66 lb of pressure is included for storage and transport.

Does the app work with Android phones?

Does the app work with Android phones?
Asked by: Robert
No idea, I'm an iPhone user. But let me tell you this, regardless if it works on Android or not, the app is useless. You have to disconnect from your local wifi network and connect to the wifi network of the light. For the life of me I was not able to find the password for wifi of the light. Does not come in the manual. Can not be found online, customer support don't care. So you can't connect to your light. And even if you did, you can only connect to one light. Yes you can set one light as master and the other two as slaves and change the settings on the master and the slaves will automatically set to the same settings, but who does that? You normally need different settings on your key and fills. By that time you just walk up to the lights and change the settings. I use the lights for lighting the background set and they are OK for that price. I would likely recommend them for lighting the background but I would not use them as my main lights.

How do these compare brightness vise to the GVM ...

How do these compare brightness vise to the GVM 896S that are not RGB? I am not sure how many LED`s are lit for the 5600K, so using the wattage doesn`t help?
Asked by: Christian
Hi Christian, The GVM 50RS and the 896S LED panels are the same size. Each 50RS LED panel has 128 Daylight-balanced beads, 128 RGB LED beads, and 128 Tungsten-balanced LED beads for a total of 384 LED beads. THe GMV 896S has a total 896 LED beads - 448 Tungsten-balanced LED beads, and 448 Daylight-balanced LED beads. As you can see, in the Daylight and Tungsten color temperature ranges, the 896S will be significantly brighter than the 50RS.
