Well thought out backpack for carrying sensitive photographic equipment. Also portions can be removed to provide more general storage space

Strange Design

The camera storage doesn't really fit my camera (GH6) unless I reconfigure the divider to fit vertically. The top compartment is also open to the camera storage, and anything you store in there has a good chance of falling down into your camera gear. I have other Lowepro packs that I prefer way over this one, but this is a size I was looking for. I'll keep trying it since I got it on sale for a decent price, but once I find something in this size with a better design, this one will either be sold or given away.

Lowe Pro makes excellent products I have had 2 of their camera bags that have served me well for over twenty years. This is an excellent media backpack.I have 2 drones and their accessories including a 10 inch I Pad. They all fit very comfortably in it. The zippers all seem durable and the padding works well. The separate rain cover is a welcome xtra. Also very comfortable to wear.

This pack is not for me. I find it very very light duty. I watched every review on YouTube. Most acted like it was good some said they don't recommend it. The moment I put my camera in the pack with a lens and then an extra lens I knew no way. Probably not a bad back for a lunch date with a go pro. They act like you can put 2 bodies with lenses an a tripod and all this stuff. That for me is laughable. I know this back pack sells for 200 dollars and I got it for 60. I need a new smaller lighter pack like this, but no way. I'd rather buy and RG that will fall apart in less then a year before this. I know I sound mad but I am mad that I wasted so much time and for it not to pan out.

Floppy

Its flopppy like bunny ears, not good for camera gear. I am outside the 30 days otherwise would return it. In contrast the Think Tank dividers are perfect but my bag is heavy and i wanted a small bag to Mountian bike with . Going to sell it on craigslist. The material is good but nogood for holding lenses and bodies

It's just OK

The backpack is well made and the rain cover is useful. The main issue for me is that for the size it only holds at most 2 cameras with lenses. There is also a lack of small organizer compartments. As other reviews mentioned, the top space is not very useful without additional containers to keep stuff from falling to the bottom. I have a traditional back opening camera backpack that is smaller but holds twice the equipment and has multiple zipperd pouches for small items. I got the Lowepro to try the side access design but you give up so much useful space to me it is not worth it.

Could a Canon 400mm F2.8 fit inside?
Asked by: Evan
You can only fit the Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM Lens with or without the camera body attach only through the top and re shaping the interior of the Lowepro Photo Active BP 300 AW Backpack. However this unit was not design for such a long telephoto lens and it will not be as protective to your gears as other backpacks.

Rephrasing the 1st question, is the divider shelf system in the BP 300 AW the same exact size as that in the BP 200 AW (just in a larger shell)? Or, is the BP 300 AW divider shelf larger in any dimensions than that in the BP 200 AW?
Asked by: David
The design of the 2 packs are the same. The interior is a little larger on the BP300 so the shelf is slightly larger too.

How big of a tripod can you fit on the side? is the pocket deep enough for a bigger tripod or is it more for a smaller one?
Asked by: stephanie
Lowepro Photo Active BP 300 AW Backpack does not have a dedicated pocket for a standard size tripod. However, you can use the mesh stretchable pocket on the side you won't be utilizing to access the equipment inside the backpack. You can attach small tabletop tripods but if you own a standard tripod you can also use the strap to secure the top of your tripod and insert 2 of the tripod legs on the side pocket. You can also use the belt strap and the bottom loop to secure a tripod on this backpack.
