Nikon MB-N10 Reviews

Good for gripping, but...

The mn-n10 is handy for big lenses on my Z6, but it is the least rugged of any of the Nikon grips I've used over the years. It seems not to recognize both batteries consistently. Regardless, if you're shooting handheld with a 70-200 on any of the smaller Nikon Zs, it helps balance the load.

Works well but,

This works as expected, but I was expecting shutter button when turned vertical as the power pack that I have on my Nikon D 750. I don't think they make the same type for the Z5 which what I bought it for.

Not well designed

It works but it makes the camera too difficult to hold with one hand. I wanted something that would mimic the feel of a pro body but this comes up short. Not concerned about the lack of buttons for vertical shooting but the grip is just not comfortable in your hand. Returned it after installing and holding the camera. It may work for some, but it did not for me.

Lacking Portrait Shooting Controls

This battery pack does what is supposed to do; however, it does not have controls to support portrait shooting. In contrast, the grip on my older Nikon D90 does have a much useful vertical shutter release button. This grip does make my Nikon Z more comfortable to hold.

Feels great in the hand

The Z6 always felt too light to me so this grip was a welcome bit of heft. A vertical shutter release would have been nice but still a good purchase for me

Power Pack Handling

Some complain that battery booster features such as found on units for the D7100/7200 series or the D800/810/850 series are missing. True that. This Power Pack provides extended service and ergonomic advantages which improve the handling of the Z5 (which I own and use). With the use of the very latest battery types one can charge the batteries in place which is a very nice feature. This unit is well worth the $200.00 asking price.

Excellent Product

almost perfect

It is an excellent grip, the only flaw is that the right side of the grip ends in a rectangular shape, and it is not so ergonomic. It is wonderful that it even has a space to store the battery compartment cover, in the same grip.

It holds two batteries but you give up the camera's battery spot by installing the MB-N10 so it actually ads only one more battery total, correct?

That is correct, the grip allows you to use 2 batteries, not 3.

Will this work with the easyCover silicone protective cover in place?
Asked by: Ernest
Sadly this will not fit together, the silicone skin does not allow the 1/4"-20 to screw in properly and the pins for the battery grip don't make sufficient enough contact to operate.
