Westcott FJ-XR Reviews
Simple/effective
Purchased to trigger a Nikon sb-800 in conjunction with a Westcott fj200. It's not ttl and needs the sync cord adapter but so far works well for my needs. Decent price.
Does Not Work With Norman
The FJ-XR does not work with all strobes, Westcott Tech Support is aware of this but their advertising says otherwise. Specifically the FJ-XR does not work with the Norman P2000D. The flash fires when the FJ-XR is plugged in and won't fire after that. The FJ-XR still works but not with Norman.
Works great in FJ ecosystem
A tiny receiver that plays fairly well in the FJ flash eco-system. I'm a Canon shooter and this receiver does not do Westcotts Canon RT protocol. It works fine with Canon protocol. Even with Canon speedlights, I've never found the RT protocol very reliable. I would have given it 5 stars if it were blaze orange or yellow. Its so small its going to be easy to lose.
Works great with Paul Buff Einstein and DigiBees
I picked up this receiver unit to go with my existing Westcott FJ400 flash head and FJ-X2M trigger. Now I can also use my Paul Buff lights in tandem with the FJ400. The only downside is you don't have the HSS capability using this receiver.
Works flawlessly with Westcott transmitter
Great way to repurpose old strobes after upgrading to a Westcott wireless system.
Great Accessory
This accessory is very useful if you want to use a speedlight as a second light source with Westcott FJ400 strobe.
Got it fast
Got it faster than expected!
Works with Norman 24/24
The Norman 24/24 has a 9 Volt trigger voltage and the FJ-XR works fine on both of my power packs. In addition I have 3 Westcott Strobes and everything works off the FJ-X3. Strobes with trigger voltages of 26 volts will not work but I don't know the cut off voltage.
