Tilta's 56 to 58mm Seamless Focus Gear Ring allows you to add 0.8 MOD gears to a compatible lens for use with cine follow focuses. This 56 to 58mm size fits virtually all lenses of the same outer diameter. The seamless version is designed with an improvement over Tilta's earlier gear rings in that it's fully closed and requires no screws in order to be secured to the lens. As a result, it attaches to the lens more easily and provides evenly distributed pressure while ensuring zero drifting and accurate focus. It's made of durable, flexible rubber, attaches firmly, and it works silently and smoothly along 360° of rotation. The MOD rating and 56 to 58mm diameter size are etched out on the inside of the ring.

Tilta TA-FGR Overview

Tilta's 56 to 58mm Seamless Focus Gear Ring allows you to add 0.8 MOD gears to a compatible lens for use with cine follow focuses. This 56 to 58mm size fits virtually all lenses of the same outer diameter. The seamless version is designed with an improvement over Tilta's earlier gear rings in that it's fully closed and requires no screws in order to be secured to the lens. As a result, it attaches to the lens more easily and provides evenly distributed pressure while ensuring zero drifting and accurate focus. It's made of durable, flexible rubber, attaches firmly, and it works silently and smoothly along 360° of rotation. The MOD rating and 56 to 58mm diameter size are etched out on the inside of the ring.

There are 14 different sizes to choose from for different lenses. Please see the list of lenses below and the compatible ring size next to each one. Other lenses may be compatible as well, but the below list has been confirmed by Tilta.

Constant focus motor skipping

These DO NOT work well at all on Takumar lenses. Installation was ok, but focus motors skips even during calibration... even pressing the focus motors towards the gear does not avoid the motor being thrown off. They are really cheap, but what is the point if the focus motor skips. Focus motor was PDMovie Smart (so not a lot of torque even). Tried Simmod SIMple Fit Follow Focus Gear instead and they work perfectly with the same setup, no skipping. Of course those are a lot more expensive, but what's the point if it doesn't work.

Great follow focus gears. Easy to install. Easy to separate into two pieces of needed. All our lives we found up when doing math and whatnot. Be sure to round down when ordering these rings if your on the bubble of size options.
