What direction (clockwise or counter clockwise) does the focus wheel turn if you are focusing at infinity? You are looking up the binoculars close to your eyes, so viewing from the eyepice end.
To focus a Swarovski 8x42 NL while looking through them, you would turn the focus adjustment wheel in a clock wise direction.

There are two very negative reviews on this pair of binoculars both of which complained the build quality. Is this a systemic problem with the "Pure" NL series?
Been birding with many top brands for more than 30 years. I've had these for more than a year and they are superb. The field of view is amazing, the focus extremely smooth and the ergonomics are fantastic. They were perfect from the start and remain so.
