Pelican 1615 Air Overview

The waterproof 1615AirNF Wheeled Carry-On Hard Case in black from Pelican is a crushproof case made from lightweight HPX2 polymer that will protect and store sensitive gear. The case is secured with an updated push-button latching system on three sides that uses compressive force to tightly clamp the case shut. This edition of the 1615Air comes lined but without foam or other inserts, allowing you the freedom to completely customize the roomy 29.6 x 15.5 x 9.4" interior to your specific needs and gear. Carry your case using one of the three overmolded handles or if it's too heavy, extend the pull handle and tow it behind you on its two low-profile, quiet-running wheels.

Your case is made of a super-light proprietary HPX2 polymer with honeycomb structural elements, which is up to 40% lighter than most other Pelican polymers. Case design features include an O-ring that seals it to an IP67-rating to make it dust and waterproof, dual 5/16" (8mm) diameter stainless steel-reinforced padlock holes, and a pressure relief valve. This valve regulates the internal pressure, keeping your gear and the case from getting crushed and allowing you to open the case without having to break a tough pressurized seal that may develop. For easy identification, there's a polycarbonate card holder that may be placed on the front or side of the case.

As with all bags and cases, check with your specific airline for the exact measurements of what they consider "carry-on" luggage before your flight.

Case is really nice. Was able to put a RF 400 2.8, Sigma 120-300 2.8, RF 100-500, and many other lenses in there, along with (2) R6's. Lots of room!

For SCUBA gear

I bought this for my scuba gear which includes a BCD, fins, boots, 3mil wetsuit, dive computer, camera case and light and all of the other misc small items needs for open water diving except weights and tank. It all fit and weighed in at 49.8 pounds. Perfect for checked luggage and more secure and protective than the rolling duffle I was using. . .the Blue color also makes it easy to spot at baggage claim.

I bought this after purchasing the 1580TP and loving that case. i decided to add this one as it is much bigger but it is not near as sturdy. the sides push in if you press on them with your hand and a little weight. The 1580TP would not move at all, very solid. One reason may just be the size but I am not as confident in the protection this provides versus the 1580.

from 1610 to air 1615

Great new case for my 633 and all ancillary equipment, and lighter too! Great new LATCHES! When flying I will go back to my 1610 which is literally a tank. 1615 is lighter and great for everyday gigs where I don't need the extra protection! ONLY DOWNER...At 500$ a little pricey and the trek pak is a little shy on foam boards....for Petes sake send a few more feet!

Fits 5 Godox AD400 easily

Instead of lugging 5 separate cases for the flash heads, I wanted to consolidate them into one case. I love the yellow padding since it's easier to find black electronic gear. If you have at least 5 strobes of similar size, this can fit all the strobes and the included accessories with room to spare. I can carry the case, but the wheels really help. If you make money on your gigs, this is worth the investment.

For a video journalist, the Pelican 1615 Air is a great piece of equipment. The case makes it easy to store my equipment, while keeping me mobile enough to accept last-minute, on-the-run assignments. Each case is a self-contained unit of equipment that makes it easier for me to do my job.
