AMD 5950X Reviews
Beast of a CPU, 16 Core with 32 Threads
AMD most powerful consumer processor. Zen 3 architecture, 16 Core with 32 Threads. I can open a lot of programs and build software fast, fast encoding video and streaming without a sweat. Day to day task, it's impossible to get this CPU 100% Just get a Ryzen 7 for gaming but for workstation, this is a must have! This thing a monster for Workloads, Very fast but very hot. Besure to get a beefy Cooler to cool down this Nuclear Reactor. Received the packaged in a very small box but tightly bubble-wrap inside. Surprisingly lightweight since it has no cooler included.
Faster than Amazon
Does what it says on the box.
Great for the software and games I play.
More than happy
I ordered the 5950x on a Saturday night along with B&H being closed for a holiday and by Wednesday it was at my doorstep. Very timely shipping excellent packaging checkout was a breeze. Would recommend buying through your store anytime. As far as the processor it's everything I could ask for yes it's pricey but it performs wonderfully. Keep in mind you must account for it's heat output but other than that it's great.
Fastest CPU I've ever used.
Can highly recommend.
Awesome upgrade from a Ryzen 7 3700. Major speed improvements and noticeable snappiness in everything.
Amazing processor built for the future.
As a last gasp for Socket AM4 you have two options: The 5800X3D which excels in gaming, and beats the 5950X, and nothing else, or the 5950X which is no slouch in gaming and has 16 cores. I went with the latter, since I have no interest in upgrading to a new socket for a long time to come. To say that this thing is fast is an understatement, and the ability to do heavy multitasking, such as video encoding WHILE gaming or working with virtual PCs without any slowdown is a big benefit. There are some downsides though. It does run hot, so you will need a beefy cooler to handle it, a Corsair H150i or better. It draws a lot of power at full load, so your motherboard will need to be capable of at least 170w of delivery. The real downside though, and the reason for the negative star, is that the all core boost speed is a fairly pathetic 4.3ghz, and the single core boost speed never hit advertised speed, even with enhanced PBO limits and a per-core curve optimizer and with a single threaded load. Overall this is the best processor you can get for a long haul on Socket AM4.
Best CPU ever
Excellent performance , I use after effect and photoshop and play games smoothly (at the same time)
