The blue BYOB 9 Camera Insert from Tenba is designed to carry and protect a camera and gear inside other non-camera bags including larger backpacks, suitcases, or handbags. Its soft outer shell molds to the shape of many different types of bags. The BYOB 9 will hold a mirrorless camera or compact DSLR with 2-3 lenses and accessories. Padded interior dividers are adjustable to fit multiple configurations and the soft-brushed tricot-lined interior will not scratch your equipment. The insert features a zippered top cover that can be folded back and stowed to allow easy access to your gear plus a handle for carrying and quick removal of the insert. Stretch mesh pockets provide a place to store your phone, camera and lens accessories, or other items. The zippered interior pockets secure smaller more valuable items. In addition there are front and rear pockets for acessories and a D-ring to attach keys, a carabiner, or a tethered media wallet.

Perfect size for my typical travel setup
Already had the Tenba BYOB10 but it was a snug fit in my travel daypack and a little too large for a minimal setup (though I would just add smaller loose non-photography items to fill space and keep them from being loose in my backpack). The Tenba BYOB9 is absolutely perfect for my Sony a6700 with attached Sony SEL18-135mm lens, Sigma 10-18mm lens, extra battery, battery charger, cards, and 55mm circular polarizer (if, as in my case, the polarizer is in a case of the same size — not an oversized square case). Fits easily in my 25L daypack and is compact for shoulder carry when needed. The BYOB10 has a bigger mesh side pocket for typical 16-20oz water bottle, but in the BYOB9 would need to have a slim bottle. For an upcoming trip I decided to take a Sony 70-350mm lens so unfortunately for this trip I’ll need the BYOB10 instead because the longer lens will not fit along with the a6700/18-135 lens combo because the bigger lens is too tall to close the top. Still, keeping the BYOB9 for most trips where I won’t take the longer lens.

Typical top quality Tenba design and construction. Perfect size for a smaller mirrorless body and zoom lens. Narrow size will fit easily in a daypack or backpack to protect camera and lens while hiking, traveling, etc. Has a handy zippered internal pocket for spare battery and memory card. As pictured, also comes with a shoulder strap if wishing to use this as a standalone camera bag. Also has Velcro moveable/removeable internal dividers.
