Why is the offline cloning speed slower than the regular data transfer speed?
The dock does not have the processing power of a computer. It copies the data sequentially bit-by-bit, which is generally slower because it copies both the data and the empty space.

Because the offline cloning speed is reliant on the items internal processor. Versus a host computer doing independent transfer often has more available resource's hardware wise.

According to Sabrent, when using the Sabrent USB Type-B Dual Bay SATA Docking Station's offline cloning feature...if the target drive is a larger capacity drive, the capacity remaining in the target drive upon completion of the offline clonse will show up as unallocated. Go into Disk Management on Windows or Disk Utility on Mac and allocate the remaining capacity.
