Godox V860III Reviews

Great upgrade

Upgrading from an old Speedlite 580EX. I have an AK flash diffuser that was configured to fit the Speedlite. The Godox Ving V860III was a snug fit to the diffuser, but it works fine in it. Now I have a modern flash with a fast recharge and a great battery life.

This flash has a 77 watts of power with modeling light. Looking forward to keep using it and getting excellent photos.

Asked by: Justin
Yes Sony shoe is still plastic because if it was metal it would short circuit the contacts that are in the front of the Sony shoe.

Does this use the same battery as the V860II?
Asked by: Jeffrey
The V860III takes the same battery as (and is interchangeable with) the V1, the VB26A. It does not share/take batteries from the V860II or the AD100. See Godox's website for further clarification if necessary.

Can you charge the battery by plugging USB-C ...

Can you charge the battery by plugging USB-C power directly into the USB-C port rather than the just the external charger? Manual only mentions the port is for firmware updates. Hoping I won't need to take the charger everywhere and can charge the battery directly in the flash.
Asked by: Kirk
Just tested a unit. You can only charge the battery by pulling it out and using the external charger. The USB-C port on the flash itself isn't very useful. Kind of a waste for it to be there for only firmware updates. Oh well.

Does this come with a diffuser in the box?
Asked by: Sunil
No, the Godox Ving V860III TTL Li-Ion Flash Kit for Sony Cameras does not come with a diffuser in the box. If a diffuser is needed, you may purchase the Vello Bounce Dome (Diffuser) for Canon 580EX II Flash, B&H # VEBDC580II, as a separate optional accessory.
