I've been using Canson papers for a long time. My local store stopped carrying them so I went to tried and true B&H. The paper is superb, B&H's service is also superb.

Excellent Paper with Quality Control Issues (update)

The quality control issues remain. 8 of 25 sheets had a dark speck or small thread visible on the printing surface. I can still use these on the right images where the speck will be covered up with dark ink, but it is a pain to have to make such determinations. A sign of a different quality control issue is that one other sheet had a ding on the side of the paper resulting in some creasing. Since this was in the middle of the pack, it was clearly something that happened prior to packaging. That sheet is not useful for anything more than test prints. The image quality is otherwise excellent, better than any other archival matte paper I have used. I keep buying it because I am committed to it for a project, but will likely not use it again because of the seeming inability of Canson to address these issues. If Canson were to solve these problems, they would be wise to reach out to past purchasers and offer them a coupon as a good will gesture to get them to try their product again.

The weight of the Canson Infinity ARCHES 88 is 310gsm (Grams per Square Meter). The paper is made out of 100% cotton. The surface feel is matte and finish is extra smooth.
