I noticed the VT-400 and VT-3000 have the same base price. Any thoughts on why I should buy one versus the other?
Asked by: David
Stability, size, and height. The VT-3000 is heavier-duty but also a little larger and heavier.

Can you mount other heads on this tripod? Like a 3 way head to do portraits vertical and horizontal?

question

I was looking at the tripod and noticed there is a crank to raise and lower the center column. Is that removable or do you have to use it every time? It seems a bit cumbersome.
Asked by: David B.
As far as I can tell, the hand crank is NOT removable. You do NOT need to raise the center post unless you wish to. The hand crank has NOT been an interference to me.

question

Does the fluid head included with this tripod have separate pan & tilt tension adjustments, or only locks? The fluid head in these images appears to be the Magnus VPH-20, which has separate pan & tilt tension knobs. However, I don't see that feature listed in the specifications for the fluid head included with this tripod.

Good tripod for the money. Fluid action seems to be more in the tilt motion. Pan is a tension control adjustment knob which seems to work OK, but, could be smoother. I think it is more effective to lock it down. All in all. it gets the job done and performs as you would expect a low cost unit to. It seems to be good sturdy quality so far
