VT-400 Aluminum Tripod System with 2-Way Fluid Pan Head is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good so far Pros: good weight, smooth pan/tilt, I like how I can raise and lower the head using the crank. Cons: tightening and loosening the pan and tilt don't seem to do very much... Didn't come with a bag.. Overall, I haven't used this tripod yet but the pan and tilt seem very smooth and that's really all I wanted. I think this is a good tripod for a good price. I did a lot of research on the matter and it seems that with more $ you get a smoother pan tilt and probably better control over the tension but the tripod will be heavier and harder to move. I'm still glad I bought this tripod, saved some money and I think it will be perfect for what I will be using it for. I just wish it included a bag!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Still too early to tell I have only used it in one recording session with my new Panasonic camera for my zoom / up close shots. My target was 100 yards away. In fact that recording and this camera's angle can be seen at 1:07 - 1:24 on this video@The tripod seemed to have becomes loosened around the base of the extension piece while in my bag. It seemed to wobble a bit. However, after tightening the part that was loose, it seemed to operate a bit better. Problem was I did not discover it was loose until after the first session. The second session seemed to go a bit better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for price This tripod is functional for the price, but as with anything you'll get what you pay for. It will do the job and holds up pretty well with use. But don't expect it to function as well as tripods that cost 3-4x as much, that just isn't realistic. More money will get you better control of the movement and probably more durability. But if you don't need perfect control of pan/tilt, and want a well priced and not too heavy tripod, this is a good option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Multi-Purpose Tripod I take a lot of high school age sports video and need a durable, sturdy and height variable tripod. I use an JVC HD camcorder so I don't need one that can handle a heavy camera. I shoot from stands, booth (through open window), sidelines and sometimes a hill near the playing field, so this tripod is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versitle, sturdy and works in many situations I purchased this for my church so the tripod is used by the well experienced near-professional to the middle school student preoccupied with everything else in life. It holds up in many situations. A great product that serves us well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I just shot my first short film with the tripod. I need equipment that'll give me no trouble so I can focus on the task at hand. Luckily I didn't even have to think about the tripod. Perfect for everything I needed and more. 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tripod The tripod is wonderful to use with our Sony camera. It is smaller but sturdy. And that's exactly what we needed. It is very easy to take with you wherever your camera can go. I can't say enough good about it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not For Professional Use This Tripod would only work for a locked down shot. Because it does not have a sled that can be used to balance the camera, it either has to be locked down or constantly manned. I had to return it.
