DJI Pocket 3 Reviews
Love the Pocket 3
We use the Osmo Pocket 3 to shoot content for marketing. We love the simplicity and quality. In fact, we loved it so much, we got another!
Pretty solid but not true log
This camera is pretty solid. Great little gimbal. So stable it makes it clear how uneven your own body is as you bob up and down. Tons of customizable settings. 10 bit recording for real with a good amount of sensor head room. You definitely need neutral density filters for outdoor use. However, the two included log profiles, hlg and DJI log M (not DJI log) are not the true raw log profiles you want or expect them to be. HLG has a baked in DJI “look” that’s not easily reversed back to scene reference. And DJI Log M, is not the same as DJI Log. There is little to no documentation as to what DJI Log M actually is. This is purposeful. I’ve gotten good results presuming it to be HLG transfer function with rec 2020 gamut. But this is my best guess. And probably isn’t truly what it is. The point being: the one thing those profiles want to suggest, which is true 10 bit raw workflow, it doesn’t actually do the way the true DJI log supported cameras do. In this way it is prosumer, not technically a professional (cinema) camera. That’s why it’s 4 stars rather than 5.
