If you wish to use the ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 Gen5 Card as a means to have four separate SSDs, you could set the RAID mode to JBOD (Just a Bunch Of Discs), which would allow you to use each dive on it's own.

For Asus ProArt X870E-Creator Wifi the PCIE_1 and PCIE_2 share x16 lanes to the CPU.
Allowed configurations are:
1) Video card no Hyper M.2 - PCIE_1x16 with PCIE_2x0
2) dual video cards at x8 but no Hyper M.2 - PCIE_1x8 with PCIE_2x8
3) Hyper M.2 with 4 nvme drives but no video card - PCIE_1x4/x4/x4/x4 with PCIE_2x0
4) Video card at x8 and Hyper M.2 with 2 nvme drives - PCIE_1x8 with PCIE_2x4/x4
I am using option 4. The Hyper M.2 has 2 matching 2210 enterprise NVME drives that would not fit in the M.2 motherboard slots. I am fine with PCIE5.0x8 bandwidth to my 5090 video card as this is equal to the bandwidth of PCIE4.0x16
My PCIE layout:
Video Card 5090 on PCIE_1 at speed 5.0x8
Boot/OS on M.2_1 at speed 5.0x4 direct to CPU
Storage1 on Hyper M.2_1 at speed 5.0x4 on PCIE_2
Storage2 on Hyper M.2_2 at speed 5.0x4 on PCIE_2
Connectx6 25GB Nic at speed 4.0x4 on PCIE_3 through chipset.
