Will it work with the Nikon z9? and will I be able to use the viewfinder?
Asked by: David
The RODE VideoMic GO II-H Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone is fully compatible with the Nikon Z9. The camera has a 3.5 mm TRS microphone input that does supply plug‐in power, so it meets RØDE’s requirement for the VideoMic GO II. As far as we are aware, using the viewfinder on the camera along with the microphone is not an issue.

How far will this microphone pick up sound? I'm looking for a microphone for recording of a football ("soccer") match.
Asked by: Johnny
The RODE VideoMic GO II-H Ultracompact Analog/USB Camera-Mount Shotgun Microphone Optimal pickup range is about 1 to 3 feet (0.3 to 1 meter) for clear, full-bodied sound—ideal for vlogging, interviews, or voiceovers. Usable range: Up to 6 to 10 feet (2 to 3 meters) in quiet environments, though clarity and presence will diminish with distance. Beyond 10 feet: The mic can still pick up sound, but it will be noticeably quieter and may require post-processing to enhance clarity.
