I need to record presentations made by a speaker standing as much as 30 feet away, next to a TV. The presentation includes the speaker and playback of recorded audio. The mic needs to attach to a smartphone. Will this mic pick up and record audio from this source and distance??

As far as we are aware, using the viewfinder on the camera along with the microphone is not an issue.
