Designed with a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 4 port and equipped with an 2TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, this U34 Bolt drives sustained transfer speeds of up to 2800 MB/s and is preformatted HFS+ for Mac, but may be reformatted for use with Windows, Android, Linux, and Chrome. The U34 Bolt is also compatible with Thunderbolt 3, Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 2, and USB 3.2 Gen 1 hosts and is able to resist shock, vibration, and dust, thanks to its MIL-STD-810F rating. Also featured is a self-cooling aluminum core, bus power, and a Total Bytes Written (TBW) rating of 1200TB. This SSD is driven by the ASMedia ASM2464PD controller, which has USB-IF and Thunderbolt 4 certification.

Is the drive a Thunderbolt 3 or Thunderbolt 4-rated drive? Connected to a Mac, will it get the 2500+ read/write speeds?

The Oyen Digital 8TB U34 Bolt USB4 External SSD is a USB4 drive. This drive is fully compatible with Thunderbolt 4 and, when connected to a Mac, can achieve read and write performance up to 2800 MB/s.

Does the cable that comes with it fully support Thunderbolt 4?

The Oyen Digital 8TB U34 Bolt USB4 External SSD includes a USB4 cable that can be used with a Thunderbolt 4 port on the host system and supports the maximum speeds the drive is capable of. However, the cable is not a Thunderbolt 4 cable and may not support connecting a different Thunderbolt 4 device to a host system.
