The optical tubes are nitrogen-filled to be watertight and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme temperature changes. Textured, slip-resistant rubber armoring provides protection and a good grip, especially in cold and wet weather. An optional tripod adapter allows use of the binoculars without the hand-shake common to high-magnification optics.
