Nikon Arcrest II Reviews

A very transparent filter

Protective filters help in two ways. First, naturally, take the damage when things go wrong. Second, make the front surface flat and easy to clean when lens' own front element is awkwardly curved. This filter is easy to clean as it apparently has some coatings that help with that too. I tested this filter on Nikon 105/2.8 and a bigger version on Nikon 24-70/2.8. No loss of resolution, though I eyeballed that at high magnification, no scientific tests. I do not see any color casts. There is practically no reflections or flares. If I try hard enough I can get some very faint reflection of a crazy bright light source, but at that point lens itself usually produces more visible flares on its own.

Hard to screw onto the lens filter threads

I always use B+W T-pro, this is my first Nikon armrest II. It was hard to put it onto a lens - a brand new Nikon lens. The B+W is much easier.
