SanDisk Extreme V2 Reviews
Excellent Portable SSD Drive!!!
Transferred my whole music library seamlessly, without any hiccups, and extremely fast too! Its compact design is incredible!
Random disconnections like everybody else.
I bought this SSD at the end of January 2025 for use as a backup drive. As such it's been great with the exception for the random ejections even when connected directly to my MacBook. In my case the disconnections actually don't happen very often and never when transferring data (so far). But still it's something that shouldn't happen at all, especially at the alarming regularity indicated by the other reviews. I have several other Sandisk SSDs of lower capacity that don't have this problem. Hopefully there will be some sort of firmware update but I'm not holding my breath. Shocking to see how the price of this drive has more than doubled since I bought mine due to the industry wide memory shortage. If the prices were the same I would cautiously recommend this SSD despite the random ejections, but at the astronomical prices as of March 2026 I can't recommend it until Sandisk fixes the problem.
