Holds my phone perfectly. Took a second to get used too but once I did it was perfect for what I wanted

This item is solid and exactly as advertised. It allows me to mount my iPhone to either the top of my Nikon or to my tripod. The one change that I would appreciate is some means of ensuring that the two, hinged elements, are at known angles. This could be accomplished either with detents or, more simply, with angle markings. For this of us who like to make sure things are predictable and repeatable this would be a very nice addition.

Is there a way to mount this directly to a 1/4inch

Is there a way to mount this directly to a 1/4inch half cage or full cage? I only have a hotshoe and I don't want to damage it.

The SmallRig Support with Cold Shoe Mount for MagSafe Phones, B&H # SM5156, features a female 1/4-20" mount on the bottom, in addition to the cold shoe mount. This allows it to be attached to any compatible accessory with a 1/4-20'' male mount. If the cage lacks a male 1/4-20'' thread, you can utilize a coupler, such as the CAMVATE Male-to-Male Screw Adapter Set (3 Adapters), B&H # CAC1230.
