Acer GA271U Overview

Easily switch between playing and streaming entertainment with the Acer Nitro GA271U 27" 1440p HDR 180 Hz Smart Gaming Monitor. Featuring a 180 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms response time, this QHD 2560 x 1440 display delivers smooth, responsive performance while playing fast-paced games. Additionally, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated 5W stereo speakers, and Google TV features allow you to stream videos from Netflix, Apple TV, YouTube, and other apps without having to connect a computer or media player.

Connecting a DisplayPort in Alt Mode compatible laptop to the USB-C port allows you to transfer video, data, and up to 65W of power over a single cable. An HDMI 2.0 port and DisplayPort 1.4 input are also available. AMD FreeSync technology eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. Two USB-A 2.0 ports are available for adding separately purchased peripherals such as a webcam. You can also pair the display with a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, or speaker. An included remote control allows you launch apps and make adjustments from the comfort of your couch.

Experience rich color with the 27" IPS panel, which supports 16.7 million colors with 99% coverage of the sRGB gamut. HDR10 support enhances videos and photos with deep shadows and bright highlights, supporting a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, 250 nits brightness, and 1 ms VRB response time.
Smooth Visuals
The 180 Hz refresh rate through the DisplayPort or USB-C port helps to provide smooth graphics by minimizing motion blur from fast action videos and games. The HDMI 2.0 port supports up to 144 Hz.
Wireless Projection
Stream movies, videos, games, and photos from your Apple iPhone, iPad, and Mac, directly to the GA271U Smart Monitor via Airplay. This display is also compatible with Android wireless projection technologies such as Miracast.

Enhance your productivity by viewing content from two different sources simultaneously in picture-by-picture mode.
Ergonomics
Rotating the screen in either direction allows you to read content in portrait mode. You can adjust the display's height, tilt, and swivel to optimize your viewing comfort. A VESA 100 x 100mm mounting pattern allows you to attach the monitor to a swivel arm or multi-monitor stand.

I Take Back Everything I Said!! This Monitor Glowed Up! Okay, listen. When I first setup this monitor, it acted like it had the HDMI strength of a potato. Enhanced mode? Black screen with no signal sign. 120fps? Not even in its dreams. I was ready to fight Acer in the parking lot. But THEN... a wild firmware update appeared. Suddenly the monitor woke up like: “My bad bro, I can do 120Hz now.” Now my PS5 sees 120Hz, Fortnite, COD, Rainbow run at 120fps, and VRR is vibing like it’s on vacation. No black screens. No drama. No emotional damage. The picture looks great, the white design is clean, and after the update this thing went from “return immediately” to “actually kinda cracked.” My advice is!! If you buy it, UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. Trust me.. it went from zero to hero real quick.

Perfect timing, great price, and did not know this was a thing!

My 10-year-old LG 27" monitor was having issues lately with flickering while connected to a DisplayPort my RTX 4080 using an HDMI-to-DP adapter, so I figured it was time for a new monitor -- and the timing could have been more perfect as this was on Dec 31, 2025 and the Acer Nitro GA271U happened to be on sale for just $99.99! Once I read the details on the Acer Nitro, I quickly discovered that it doubles as a TV with Google TV built in! I did not know this was a thing, until now. My old monitor was HDMI only and maxed out at 1080p @ 60Hz. The Acer Nitro supports DisplayPort and maxes out at 1440p at 180Hz! Talk about an upgrade!!! So, great features and great price (plus it's white so it matches my gaming PC). The Acer Nitro GA271U 27" Smart Gaming Monitor has exceeded my expectations and easily earns a 5-star rating. It’s an impressive blend of high-performance gaming, productivity features, and built-in smart entertainment—all in one sleek package. First, the QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution on a 27" IPS panel looks fantastic. Colors are vibrant and accurate thanks to 99% sRGB coverage, wide viewing angles, and an anti-glare finish. HDR10 support adds extra depth to movies and games with richer highlights and shadows, and while brightness is rated at 250 nits, it’s more than sufficient for indoor use. For gaming, this monitor truly shines. The 180 Hz refresh rate (via DisplayPort or USB-C) combined with a 1 ms response time delivers incredibly smooth, responsive gameplay. AMD FreeSync effectively eliminates screen tearing and stuttering, making fast-paced shooters and action games feel fluid and immersive. HDMI still supports up to 144 Hz, which is great for consoles or secondary systems. But what really sets the GA271U apart is its Smart Monitor functionality. With Google TV built in, I can stream Netflix, YouTube, Apple TV, and more without connecting a PC or console. The included remote control makes it feel like a TV replacement, and the built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are seamless. AirPlay and Miracast support make wireless casting from Apple and Android devices quick and easy. Connectivity is excellent. The USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 65W power delivery is a game-changer—one cable handles video, data, and laptop charging.
