SmallRig Carbon Fiber Video Monopod Reviews

I've tried every modern monopod, this one is the best.

Back in the day we used a Manfrotto carbon fiber - it was light weight with a nice head! But dinky. My wife stepped on it and it shattered into a million pieces. We leveled up to the Cobra 2 Monopod! Much more sturdy, able to be left at angles for uneven ground and still rock. This is the shortest one of the bunch for shooting low and still a great monopod. But we wanted something faster! And the Cobra Strike 3 came out. The clutch handle was indeed much faster, but it came with some downsides. It's a heavier monopod, but still not sturdy. We've gone through like 3 of them. One of them is straight up bend and is always shooting at a slight diagonal. One of them has lost it's grip and sinks lower and lower with a heavier head on it. And the downside overall with this monopod is also that you can't set it at an angle to straighten out your shots. Enter the Smallrig. I have several of the Tribex tripods, and those are all quirky as well, but still the best on the market. But I literally have NO complaints about this monopod. It might just be perfect. Sturdy feet- I can leave them unattended for a second. Beefy sticks, I'm not worried about them bending or breaking. Fast clutch - I don't accidentally grab them and extend the legs every time I reach for it like the Strike. Very nice fluid head. I didn't mention above but every single other monopod I installed my own 3rd party head to go with it because they were all lacking in some way. Not this one. Tight Foot, I can swivel the feet and leave it at an angle to straighten out my shots. What else can you say about a monopod? It does everything and it does it perfectly.

Amazing!

I love this monopod. From build to function. It's light enough to carry all day, but stable enough for most cameras. The fluid head performs smoothly. The feet deploy and detract easily. I love the 1/4 20 Threads for mounting a monitor. It makes run-and-gun so much more manageable than a traditional tripod.
