Angler FastBox Octagonal Softbox (32")

The FastBox Octagonal Softbox from Angler is a 32" octagonal softbox designed to set up and collapse in a fraction of the time it takes to set up a standard softbox. With a single motion, it expands to snap and lock into a classic octagonal shape, favored by fashion and portrait photographers for even lighting and round catchlights in your subject's eyes. The silver interior amplifies the output from an on-camera flash, and the inner and outer diffusers create an even beam without hot spots. The FastBox has an adjustable 120° angle and features a twist lock stand adapter that can be attached to any standard 5/8" stud.

The separately available adapter rings allow the mount to be attached to on-camera-type flash units and Profoto-A mount or Godox V1 mount compatible lights.

Angler FB-G32 Fabric Grid for FastBox FB-32K Octagonal Softbox (32")

Use this FB-G32 Fabric Grid on your Angler 32" FastBox FB-32K Octagonal Softbox to narrow the beam angle of the softbox light output. It also controls light spill and directionality while retaining a soft, diffused quality of light. Constructed from lightweight polyester, it attaches quickly and easily to the front of the softbox via touch-fastening strips and conveniently folds flat for travel and storage.

The grid is specifically designed for fast and easy installation onto Angler's FB-32K FastBox 32" Octagonal softbox. The grid is ideal for portraits, fashion, and dramatic shots, where directional light is desired.
Shapes the Light
The grid narrows the beam and controls light spill without compromising the soft and diffuse quality of your FastBox. For extra directionality, add the optional honeycomb grid included in Angler's FB-32K kit (sold separately). You'll be able to direct your light at a specific spot and add some mystery and drama to your exposure.

Angler FB-G3 FastBox Adapter for AD200 Pro II, Sony HVL-F60RM2, and Canon Speedlight EL-5

Use the FB-G3 FastBox Adapter from Angler to attach select Godox, Canon, and Sony flashes to any Angler FastBox softbox. Use this adapter to add the FastBox advantage of rapid deployment to your lighting setup. The FB-G3 also adds the FastBox's light-shaping and modifying capabilities with accessories such as a 40° grid, diffusers, and color gel set. The FB-G3 adapter locks into the FastBox with a simple twist and provides a firm and secure hold using the Godox bayonet mount.

NOTE: This adapter is not compatible with the H200J II Bare Bulb Flash Head for AD200Pro II.

Dedicated FastBox Adapter
The FB-G3 adapter adds a secure mount to any Angler FastBox softbox for the Godox AD200Pro II. The adapter also is compatible with the Sony HVL-F60RM2 and the Canon Speedlight EL-5. Attach the flash to any FastBox softbox to benefit from the light-modifying and shaping capabilities of the whole Anger FastBox series.

Poor Bracket to Stand Lock System

The only thing that makes this softbox problematic is the darn twist “lock” mechanism to mount to a stand. Everything else about it is fantastic. When it twists tight, four rubber sides press against the mounting stud to “grip” it, the problem with that is that nearly all mounting studs/baby pins and so on all have the notched/concave section to keep screw down type mounting systems from slipping off the mount. This means that the twist lock has not much surface area to grip on to; just the ring at the top of the stud and a small amount at the bottom. It makes for a very insecure mounting system and will spin in the wind or slowly sag went mounted at an angle. This makes it very annoying when the light is mounting out of reach and you have yo keep taking the light down to readjust. There’s no reason this shouldn’t have a screw type locking system. That would make this an unbeatable setup. I’ll still use this as an assistant-held light but I can never mount it again without the guaranteed position change.

I have a godox v1 mid flash. Will this work with this and what items do I need to purchase to make it a kit i just pop my flash into?

The Angler FastBox 24" Octagonal Softbox Kit with Fabric Grid & Godox V1 Adapter is made for the Godox V1 and the Godox V100, but the Godox V1 Mid is slightly smaller in diameter and easily falls out of the adapter, so it does not work correctly with the Angler softbox.

The Angler FastBox 28" Softbox Kit for Profoto A1 and Godox V1 (B&H# ANFB28KCADK) comes with these items: Angler FastBox Octagonal Softbox (28"), Carry Case, Limited 1-Year Manufacturer Warranty, and Angler FB-CA FastBox Adapter for Select Profoto and Godox Flashes. That last item is for use with the Godox V1 and V100 series of flashes. No additional adapters are required, but you will likely want a light stand if you do not already have one.
