Designed for efficient and instinctive operation, the Transmitter Pro X features an upgraded layout for quickly adjusting settings. The color display shows flash groups in the same color code as Elinchrom's latest models.

A two-way communication system provides real-time power settings and modeling lamp status for each unit, allowing you to make precise adjustments without having to leave your shooting position.

Step up from prior transmitter

I prefer this transmitter over the prior version. EL-Skyport. It's easier to read the output and generally more intuitive. It is not, however, a substantial leap forward into a much larger feature set. I used it with Elinchrom Mono Lights and an ELB 400. When using Hi-Sync Mode together with a HS flash head, the transmitter automatically switched to Hi-Sync as soon as I raised the camera speed a fast shutter speed. That's an improvement over the EL-Skyport.

Big step up from previous version - MUCH easier to read, easier to operate. A bit pricey but it's definitely better, particularly if you're shooting where the backlight on the older version just doesn't cut it.

This transmitter doesn’t have speed mode, for leaf

This transmitter doesn’t have speed mode, for leaf shutter lenses. Can speed mode be added via a firmware upgrade?

The Elinchrom Transmitter Pro X (Canon) does not have the option to change the sync speed. It is not really needed for leaf shutters, and the setting on the transmitter should be set to Normal Sync mode. At this time, there is no indication that Elinchrom will add that feature through firmware.

No TTL for this? Does it fire older Elinchrom Flas

No TTL for this? Does it fire older Elinchrom Flash pack models, like my Ranger RX?

It will fire the older pack. But since the Ranger RX doesn't have TTL functionality, it will not add those functions.
