Could this be used as a carry on case for a flight?
Yes, you can use it as a carry on. I brought it on a flight to the Philippines just fine. Some airlines will have a weight restrictions, but they let me carry it on because they didn't want to be held liable for any damages. I was able to fit a 5d mkiii, 16-35, 24-70, 100L macro, 70-200 and a couple 600 RT flashes and room to spare for 3 batteries and a trigger. Very heavy lol.
