Been loving the convenience of the hydraulic lift system for this monopod -- plus it's weight-bearing capacity is impressive. No more fussing with tweaky clasps or twist locks. It's admittedly a bit heavier than a traditional carbon fiber monopod due to the hydraulic system, but the added weight doesn't bother me a bit compared to the convenience.

I got this to use with a heavy lens/camera combo where I regularly need to stand up or squat down while doing video. The twisting action on many monopods made that cumbersome, this solved that issue for me. I hold the weight, squeeze, slowly lower down then let go and it grabs at that level. Repeat to stand. It would be better for carry on sized luggage if it could have 4 or 5 sections instead of just the 3 due to length in addition to the grabbing mechanism... but that doesn't take away from it's usefulness. It will not fit in a standard carry on size luggage so it goes in the big suitcase that i have to take anyway.

You would likely want to use a ballhead or a monopod head in conjunction with your arca swiss compatible plate for your 180-600mm lens rather than screwing the monopod directly into your Nikon foot that comes with the lens. I use the RRS foot and the RRS monopod head and it is an amazing platform for most occasions.

The SmallRig x Potato Jet TRIBEX PRO X-Clutch Hydraulic Monopod (Basic Version) (B&H# SM6284) is a monopod that comes with just one foot. The least expensive version with the three mini legs (which the manufacturer calls a Minipod base) is the SmallRig x Potato Jet TRIBEX PRO X-Clutch Hydraulic Monopod (Standard Version) (B&H# SM6283).
