    Westcott 9014 reviews

Background Support System (10.5' Width) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 62.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Westcott vs. Impact I've only used 2 backdrop systems. This one and $Impact system. After about 6 months of use the impact system didn't clamp down as well and would occationally slide back down, so I would use a clamps to wrench the plastic screws to hold tight enough. The Westcott has nice clamping system and spring loaded stands so they don't slide down fast. The cross bar on the impact is loose, but the westcott has a nice locking feature that holds it in place. The Impact is 12' long while the westcott is 10.5'. The westcott is worth the extra $.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value, solid construction. After researching online looking for a solid background stand system capable of holding 9' rolls of paper without the wobble and sway, I decided on the Westcott.In-store salesman tried to talk me out of it as they don't stock them, and into another $ set which I had for light muslin drop clothes.B & H had it in stock and on my doorstep (in Canada) within a week. I'm glad I stuck to my decision as this is an excellent med-heavy duty set with stands that open wide for stability, a solid 3-piece crossbar and a high quality bag.It is still light enough to carry on location.I couldn't be happier with this purchase or item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as described I purchased this knowing that it wasn't infinitely adjustable since I am going to use it with a full width (108) seamless paper. But, in retrospect I wished that I had purchased a unit with an adjustable crossbar. That is the only reason I give it 4 stars. The unit itself is well built and height is easily adjusted. It holds a roll of paper with no problems and in fact, don't really notice much bowing of the crossbar. It works well for it's intended purpose. It comes with a nice case for transporting the unit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Westcott Background Support System I'm using this in a room I've converted to a mini studio in my house. Or I was going to use it. The room is not large but would accomodate a standard 86 roll of background paper. Although I like the build quality of this support system as well as the carry bag it comes with, the fact that you are limited to only 126 (too long for the room), or 84 (too short to fit the 86 roll I had purchased) I am not able to use it at all for the intended purpose. I am going to hold onto it though for taking on location(indoors not outdoors) or possibly using in the basement. I ended up ordering the Da Lite adjustable support system which is not quite as sturdy...but it's adjustable! I would still recommend the Westcott support system but make sure you can accommodate the non-adjustable nature of the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great support system! This support system is extremely sturdy, and I feel confident that it can hold the weight that it advertises. I also like the slow drop release system that keeps the whole thing from slamming down when you're lowering it. The only gripe I have with it is that it's not as adjustable as I'd like. You can either attach two of the poles and leave out the center pole to make it shorter, or use all three poles. But there's no way to shorten it to the exact size you'd like.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Satisfied These are not sturdy enough to hold a paper roll at the top, but I would not do that even if I could. So just I just threw the paper over keeping the roll on the floor. And this works just fine. I didn't get it if these are made of aluminum or of something else, because it is well painted in black. But it is lightweight and solid. There only 2 options of the crossbar length (either to use 3 parts or 2 of them) one for 107 and another for 53 wide paper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Product Very useful, sturdy, slightly overpriced. I love this system and it's better than the $99 Impact system. It has three cross bars and using two crossbars extends it to just under seven feet which is convenient since that just fits in my apartment. I use the savage paper rolls: I buy the 9 foot roll and cut it with a hack saw to 6' 7 and it fits perfectly on the Westcott.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A sturdy and dependable stand I've had this stand for at least ten years now and I am impressed with how sturdy it is. It can hold the weight of several backdrops clamped to it and when you have a back drop stretched from pole to pole. Its also easy to take on the go. It is easy to assemble and to take apart. Do yourself a favor and buy this sturdy backdrop holder instead of a cheap one. You don't want to risk any accidents. I volunteer at a church at Christmas taking Santa photos. They have this stand. A group of teenagers burst in the door and one ran behind Santa's bench sliding on the backdrop. I ran to try to stop it all from falling as the stand bounced but it accepted the imbalance and all was well.
