The Hoya 67mm Neutral Density (NDX4) 0.6 Filter has several uses and offers the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They have no effect on color balance.

Multi-coated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

Neutral Density filters have four main uses

To enable slow shutter speeds to be used, especially with high speed films, to record movement in subjects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars
To decrease depth of field by allowing wider apertures to be used, which helps separate subjects from their background
To decrease the effective ISO of high speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright situations
To allow cine and video cameras (which have fixed shutter speeds) to film subjects such as snow, sand or other bright scenes which could cause overexposure

Neutral Density Factors

2x = ND.3 (exposure adjustment = 1 stop, reduces ISO 1/2)
4x = ND.6 (exposure adjustment = 2 stops, reduces ISO 1/4)
8x = ND.9 (exposure adjustment = 3 stops, reduces ISO 1/8)
As one of the premier filter manufacturers, Hoya filters continue to made from quality glass assuring the photographer clear, sharp and accurate images
Hoya filters consistently provide even color all the way through the filter; All surfaces are ground and polished to specific thickness and tolerances

    67mm Neutral Density (NDX4) 0.6 Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 13.
    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice quality at a great price! Use for waterfall photography where I need to use a long exposure in daylight. Works great, especially when you have an assortment of different ND filter strengths to work with. However, I have noticed on my 77mm Hoya NDs that the mounting clip inside the ring is beginning to separate and the glass is now loose. That might have happened during exposure to hot sunlight in the summer months. Also, be aware that you cannot use your normal lens cleaner to clean these filters (as stated on the filter case, but I inadvertently used the cleaner and it streaks the filters really badly!). Still, used properly, these are a must-have in your camera bag!

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from ND Filter is Fantastic! The Hoya 67mm ND 0.6 filter is a must have filter for anyone shooting landscape photography. When the sun in shining bright, the filter will limit the amount of light passing through the aperture by about 2 stops, without any loss of clarity or color. It will also allow you to stop down without sacrificing shutter speed. A terrific lens with a very resonable price tag, I would strongly recommend it to my friends.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to camera bag It is an important addition to any camera accessories list. It basically slows down the amount of light reaching the sensor, which is very useful in sunny weather or when one wants to slow down movement such as in waterfalls. This filter will alow a photographer to use the camera creatively when there is too much light.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much needed When the scene is too bright, I add this filter to the DVP-WA07-43 0.7x Wide Angle Lens (For Canon Vixia video camcorder) to decrease the exposure. NOTE: The slip on lens cap that came with the Wide lens attachment doesn't fit over the filter. It only fits over the lens, so I'll need to purchase a snap on cap.

    Rated 3 out of 5 by from not sure I understood that ND filter could be turned to compensate for light and dark by turning the filter. I cannot see any density differences when I turn it and if you turn too much, you screw it off. I may not understand how these work.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from ND filter Third one that I've owned; the other two just wore out. Good glass; consistent gradient; and excellent tool to further enhance px. Highly recommended.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does as expected This filter gives me the desired results that I would expect. This is a useful filter to have in your bag.

    Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hoya - great filters for the money. Used in combination with a Circular Polarizing filter to slow down shutter speed for 'silky' water shots.
