question

I read that there is a possibility that the pellets that are orange and go blue might be problematic. Does anyone know about this?
Asked by: Harvey
As it absorbs moisture the color of the pellets change. Instructions are enclosed with product and on item on how to reactivate the pellets.

question

Is this reusable? Can you put in oven to dry out?
Asked by: Harvey
The pellets in the Pelican Desiccant Silica Gel for All Cases are orange. When they turn clear they need to be reactivated. Put them in an oven at 300 to 350 degrees for about three hours or until they turn orange.

Why is there such a great difference between this product and the Vello one? They look the same.
Asked by: Harvey
There are several similar products that range in price from $6 to $19. Pelican is a recognized name and that may be part of the reason for the price difference.

When out of the oven the items are too hot to put in a case. If I leave them out to cool, won't they just absorb more moisture?
Asked by: Richard
The Pelican Desiccant Silica Gel for All Cases will absorb moisture when it is out in the environment, but it will take many weeks to months for it to be completely full of moisture. It will not completely fill with moisture in the few hours that it takes for it to cool down.

How long can this be used before it needs a recharge?
Asked by: Frederic
The Pelican Silica Gel would turn pink when it's time to recharge it. However, the time frame in which this can occur depends on the amount of humidity.
