    Manfrotto 123 reviews

123 Pivoting Boom Clamp for Super & Heavy Duty Boom is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Studio Essential I switched to Manfrotto boom clamp from a double grip head. The main reason being ease of use. Before I felt like it I needed another pair of hands if I was going to make an adjustment to my beauty lighting. The pivoting clamp is essentially one-hand operation. Pair this with a good counter weight and you can achieve highly precise control over your boom. It doesn't sink a few inches when you lock it down so there isn't any guess work. I use this with some beauty lighting attached, fairly close to my subject and I really appreciate just being able to reach up over a camera stand and make fine adjustments to the height and angle of my boom. The build quality will stand up to professional applications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough Clamp for Controlling Light Boom I needed this clamp and adjuster tool to use with my heavy duty light sand and boom arm which I received without a clamping device. This clamp and boom adjuster works great. It doesn't appear to be heavy duty from the picture, but looks are deceiving. It is made tough and works well to adjust the boom arm working with the light at one end and the counter weight on the other, and when the adjustment has been made - then to lock it all down. I haven't had it a long time but it is a keeper which will work for a very long time. It is an excellent REQUIRED piece of equipment for the purpose. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bought the wrong item, but... ...I would definitely buy this boom clamp, if I needed something this large and durable. I meant to purchase a clamp for use with the Manfrotto mini boom arm, but this clamp was way too big for that small arm. Fortunately, the clamp I needed, was a bit cheaper and lighter. However, if you're setting up a long boom for use in a studio, you can't beat the build quality that this clamp offers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Both strong and light It seems well suited for its purpose. Just one observation, despite having a 5/8 stud socket (aka baby) i STRONGLY reccommend only using it with a light stand that has a 1 and 1/8 (aka 28mm and Junior reciever) as even when properly counterbalanced a boom can exert alot of torque from a slight breeze or light bump.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Manfrotto Quality, as usual. Works great once you rig sleeves/spacers to adapt to different diameter poles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Good design, I used this to replace a broken pivot of a very old Super Boom that is a Balcar-rebadged Lino Manfrotto. The old one was the same design but had non-ratcheting plastic handles that eventually broke off, leaving the pivot control seized with an exposed brass bolt that I couldn't remove. This one is all-metal including both ratcheting handles and should last a lot longer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Manfrotto Quality Got this to replace grip that came with Westcott boom arm which required two hands (and other body parts) to make simple angle adjustments. This thing is rock solid and fits stand & boom like a glove. Just like most everything Manfrotto makes, this is five star-quality...looks good too!
