Produces glowing highlights and a slight reduction in contrast for a more ethereal image appearance.
Helps soften skin details, blemishes, and wrinkles.
When viewed from the subject's perspective, the filter appears to be sparkling and helps instill confidence in models, resulting in a potentially better performance.

Nice SoftFX

So I have used the GlimmerGlass series a lot as a large matte-box filter on the cinema cameras. But sometimes I go and shoot inserts on a lighter setup with my FX6 and a Zoom lens. For that purpose this filter is absolutely perfect. If the 1/2, 3/4 and 1/4 become available as 82mm filters I will purchase them.

This filter was well packaged and felt super premium overall (from the quality of the packaging to the filter itself.) Ot feels sturdy and the effects are great!

I don't like this filter at all. I regret having bought it and the next filter I buy will not be from this brand.

Maintains contrast in the shadows and black levels

I was looking for a filter that would bloom the highlights and practical light sources without decreasing the overall contrast of the image, and I think this was just the filter I wanted. Compared to Black Pro Mist and especially Cinebloom, the shadow levels and sharpness are maintained with this filter. The diffusion is just enough for me. To me, it seems it blooms the highlights and light sources just enough to look like my image was shot on film, but without being too dramatic or noticeable. I think if I were going for a more dreamy look, I'd go with a higher Glimmerglass strength or use something like Cinebloom.

Is there any light loss?
Asked by: Zak
From testing in the store, we saw no visible change in exposure, likely indicating a 1x filter factor and almost complete light transmission (minus any potential loss from coatings and glimmerglass particulates).

What's the difference between this and a Black Promist Filter?
Asked by: Jesse
A Black Pro-Mist filter and the Tiffen 82mm Glimmerglass 1 Filter soften wrinkles, blemishes, and other details, but the Glimmerglass filter creates glowing highlights, while the Black Pro-Mist filter reduces highlights.
