Yes, you may unscrew the pin on the Avenger C1000 to expose the threading.

Are there extension poles that can be attached to this to hang items lower?
You can attach a short c-stand arm or a magic arm with baby receiver. You must always use a safety chain when rigging from the ceiling, so make sure you have a long enough safety chain for the extension.

What is the recommended maximum weight this can hold?
That would depend on the structure of the ceiling grid. The actual metal grids can sustain 3-5 lbs before starting to give. if the Grid is not suspended properly then watch out. I have hung 4 light soft boxes, LED par cans and other small lighting fixtures from them.

Hi, I assume the threads on the pin to be 1/4 ? ... and if so, is the pin male or female?
There are no threads. It is a solid cylinder. Meant to clamp onto drop hung ceiling metal structure. Lighting instruments tighten into it. Eliminates need for light stands.
