  • 1Description

The Nikon Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8 Lens is a manual focus short telephoto lens that will produce superb images whether used for macro photography (up to 1:2 reproduction ratio, 1:1 with an optional adapter), or for general photography, such as portraits. It is designed for F mount cameras with full frame FX format sensors, but will also provide a 157.5mm equivalent focal length when used on DX-format cameras. The manual focus lens uses Close-Range Correction to maintain optical quality when shooting at exceptionally close focusing distances, even up to the minimum of 16.1". Additionally, it has a 9-blade diaphragm for smooth out-of-focus elements.

    Nikon 105mm f/2.8 reviews

    Micro-NIKKOR 105mm f/2.8 Lens is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good glass, a manual lens in many respects I bought this lens to shoot close-ups of flowers and the small world understory in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. I've been testing it in a public gardens and at home. Using the D-750 Nikon camera the lens works very well. Image quality is exceptional. Please note following caveats. Using this manual focus lens on a newer digital camera requires the Manual camera setting. You will be required to set aperture and shutter speed as well as focus. That being said, I made a gorgeous 11x17 print from a hand held macro shot shooting RAW, using Lightroom for very minor adjustments and my new Epson printer. The sharpness, smoothness and color rendition of this lens is quite amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still excellent After more than 25 years of use with film cameras and a D200, this lens is still providing extremely sharp, well exposed images with my new D800. Images made with this lens stand up well when they are heavily cropped to compensate for its 0.5X magnification. It has the precision feel of the best Nikon lenses and still works with the latest camera exposure metering. A newer lens may be purchased after thorough testing has been conducted with the D800, but after 1500 images I am in no hurry to replace it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Precision optics and body Used for wildlife macro photography with and without a tripod. The lens has no and little aberration making focusing distinct and images unblurred. The glass in the lens elements is optically correct producing non-distorted colours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A superb lens I have been using this lens for macro work using a Nikon D800E body in conjunction with the Zerene photo stacker software. The resolution of the final stacked images is truly stunning. They are much more detailed than what appears to the naked eye.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best lens ever!!! I owned it for few days, it is by far the best clear sharp lens that is great for portraits nature general use and wow its macro capabilities. Unfortunately I had to return it as I was looking for a longer reach lens. Can't thank enough to the people in B&H for their help understanding and support, They received the lens back shipped me the telephoto I wanted and gave me full credit. I am planning to buy this lens in the future, far superior outdoors compare to it's smaller 40mm 60mm and 85mm Nikkor lens
