I have 2 Paterson contact printers, both in excellent condition except the grey foam backing that the photographic paper is placed on has disintegrated and fallen apart. I want to know where I can buy this backing in order to replace it? Thank you
You can try using a foam board, which is available at this link https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/996282-REG/archival_methods_82_8511_1_8_acid_free_foamboard_8_5.html .
The product enables the user to place an 8X10 photo paper between the negatives (top) and the foam (bottom) in a darkroom to make a contact print of the negatives. This product is not exactly a replacement but it should work.
