The Paterson Super System 4 - 35mm Tank is constructed from high-impact polystyrene that stands up to high volume use. This tank has no hidden parts, and is always easy to keep clean.

The Super System 4 Tanks are durable, easy to use, and provide consistent, even film development.

They feature a unique snap-in light trapping funnel for quick filling and emptying, to ensure even development and precise processing times.

Super System 4 Tanks offer a choice of agitation methods; use inversion agitation,  rotary agitation with the removable agitator rod supplied, or a combination of both.

The Paterson 35mm tank takes a single 35mm film.

The thoughtful design of Super System 4 includes a funnel which locks in place to keep reels secure. And as an extra safety feature, the cap cannot be locked if the funnel is improperly seated.
Chemicals pour without splash, and solution quantities are permanently indicated on the bottom of every tank.
All parts are interchangeable.
The Super System 4 is simpler to load, faster to fill and easier to clean than any other tank.
A large diameter one piece lid and funnel which clips into place positively and securely, enabling the tank to be filled and emptied quickly.

35mm Tank with Reel (Super System 4) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic tank for anyone I've used a Paterson system 4 tank for about 2 years now and it has yet to let me down! I mostly develop 120 in it but works just as good for 35mm. The tank is a piece of cake to assembly as is cleaning the tank, the agitation stick is really easy to use if you prefer that type of agitation that being said there is one problem I've encountered and that is using this tank with inversion agitation... it tends to leak around the cover even when the cover is seated properly. This problem could just be with my tank/cover and the leak isn't serious but a few drops do escape. Overall I would buy again, in fact I plan on buying the 3 reel version soon.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works, but poor design The main problem with this tank is the rubber lid. It has an extremely tight fit, and does not make a seal easily. Fixing the lid can be very frustrating when the job is time sensitive, such as after adding developer. Of course, a tight seal is required to agitate the tank correctly. The second problem I had was with the reel itself. Film would pop out of the sprockets too easily, causing more frustration than necessary when loading the reel.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but could be better I really like the design of this tank and reel. It is the one i used in college so i figured i should buy one I'm already used to. The reel is extremely easy to use and clean. I say it could be better because it is far from perfect. The lid is the problem. You can get a tight seal and keep liquids from coming out but it takes way to long to push it all the way on and when only have so much time when you are developing this can be a problem. i usually end up just holding the lid on top(but liquids still leak out) for the first agitation then pushing it fully on during this first part of letting it sit. It just seems like the lid problem should have been thought out more on Paterson's part. Next time i am going to go with the steel tank.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 20 years of use and still going strong. Well, 4 years of use, 16 years of sitting on shelf in garage anyway. I bought mine for a photo class back in the mid nineties, and I've just returned to shooting film and developing at home again in the last 4 years. This is a great product. Well designed, good materials, and easy to use. The ONLY problem I've ever had is the lid will leak during inversion. Pushing down on the lid helps to seal, but the best thing I've found is to soak the lid in the same water used to warm chemicals, therefore softening the lid enough to help it seal. Also, keeping the plastic reels clean is paramount to getting the film to load smoothly every time. I rinse mine in a 1/5 solution of white vinegar and water every few rolls, and I've read of others using denture cleaner soak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't be simpler! This was purchased to attempt developing color film at home. Haven't done this since high school, which was some time ago. The Paterson 35mm Tank with Reel made it so simple that I'm weary of going back to digital. There are some reviews of elsewhere that state it's hard to load the film onto the reel, well this couldn't be further from the truth. I put all the items in a dark bag and had the film ready to develop in five minutes. All around great product. Just wish I purchased the two reel tank :P

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seems well built, easy to use Relatively easy to use. Getting the film started on the reel can be a bit tricky but not too bad. Works just fine with 36exp rolls of film. The lid can sometimes be a bit annoying to get fully sealed quickly, but it's fine once you get the hang of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I bought this set for a photography class. This is my first time working with film, and I'm very excited to be able to use the equipment. I'm glad I was able to get the required kit for a great price! Definitely look into buying an extra reel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Fine Works just how it's supposed to. The reel is easy to load. My only complaint is that the lid is really hard to get on all the way, leading to leaks when agitating. If you are careful and persistent, you can avoid that by taking the time to ensure the lid is all the way on. I will probably later see about getting a developing tank with a screw on top.
