Compact and lightweight, the Nikon 8x25 Trailblazer ATB Binoculars are an ideal companion for watching birds and wildlife on the trail, your favorite team at the stadium, or just sightseeing around town. The combination of high-index BAK4 roof prisms and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics work together to maximize light transmission and ensure bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity across their wide field of view, to present you with an immersive observational experience.

Complementing the optics are design details that make the Trailblazer comfortable and easy to hold. The bridge is built with dual hinges that allow the optical tubes to fold under it to minimize the footprint to take up as little space as possible when stored in your pack, pocket, purse, or glove box. Their polycarbonate chassis helps to reduce the weight without sacrificing strength or stability, and they are wrapped in a protective rubber armor that provides a secure slip-resistant grip even in cold and wet weather. To withstand the rigors of being exposed to the elements, the optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging.

Optical Performance

  • Moderate 8x power magnifies subjects while preserving a wide field of view
  • 25mm objective lenses help to produce a compact form factor
  • Roof prism optical path ensures a low-profile design that is easy to hold
  • High-index BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission for brighter views and improved color fidelity and contrast
  • Wide 60° apparent angle of view presents an immersive observational experience
  • Generous 429' field of view at 1000 yards

Use and Handling

  • Closed-bridge configuration provides a stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Low-profile center focusing wheel helps to maintain a compact form and minimizes snagging hazard
  • Right-eye dioptric correction allows users to compensate for optical prescription for sharper views
  • Broad 56-72mm interpupillary adjustment distance for easy use by a wide variety of people—especially those with narrow faces such as children and adolescents
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for easy use with or without eyewear
  • 10mm eye relief
  • 3.1mm exit pupil

Construction Details

  • Environmentally friendly prisms and lenses feature Eco-Glass, which is made without lead or arsenic
  • Dual-hinge design allows the optical tubes to fold under the bridge when closed to minimize the form factor for easier storage and carrying
  • Lightweight and impact-resistant polycarbonate chassis
  • Chassis material is temperature resistant, preventing the expansion and contraction that is common with metal, which can cause the optical components to move out of alignment over time and prevent sharp focus
  • Nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in temperature and environmental conditions
  • Protective rubber armor provides a slip-resistant grip
  • Lightweight 9.9 oz

Super choice

Hi, I am so glad that I relied on the advice of B & H when selecting binoculars for a recent trip to Africa. The lightweight Nikon trailblazers were absolutely the right choice for my wildlife viewing experience.

These are light weight, small (tiny) and perfect for scouting birds to shoot (in a photo not a gun) I can also put in pocket for concerts (if they EVER come back) The roll up/down feature of the eyepiece makes it nice for ppl wearing glasses. They dont fog up easy. They are as strong as my big ones, in a tiny package. They are perfect. I highly recommend. (even for Canon shooters)

I was sent 10x25 binoculars instead

Fold up nicely to carry in your pocket -- just what I wanted for my hikes. Not sure yet about durability, but the clarity is great.

These binoculars are the right size and weight for hikes. Keep a couple pair in the house to see what birds are visiting. The clear viewing is spectacular for identifying birds no matter their size. Impressed

Great Binoculars with a caveat

By Margaret

I wanted a small binocular with good optics and a case. The Nikon 8X25 Trailblazer is great and let's me see things clearly. I have macular degeneration and my vision is blurry at a distance. With these binoculars, I can see the faces of dancers or actors in the stage as well as clearly see wildlife and birds. The caveat is that the covers to the eye pieces are not attached and did not fit snuggly. They fell off easily when I was putting the binocs back in the case or taking them out. I cut a thin strip of black electrical tape and put it along the rims of the covers. I wish the covers were attached but they do not come off easily. I now have to apply a little pressure to remove the covers which is a good thing.
