Compact and lightweight, the Nikon 8x25 Trailblazer ATB Binoculars are an ideal companion for watching birds and wildlife on the trail, your favorite team at the stadium, or just sightseeing around town. The combination of high-index BAK4 roof prisms and anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics work together to maximize light transmission and ensure bright and clear high-contrast images with accurate color fidelity across their wide field of view, to present you with an immersive observational experience.

Complementing the optics are design details that make the Trailblazer comfortable and easy to hold. The bridge is built with dual hinges that allow the optical tubes to fold under it to minimize the footprint to take up as little space as possible when stored in your pack, pocket, purse, or glove box. Its polycarbonate chassis helps to reduce the weight without sacrificing strength or stability, and it is wrapped in a protective rubber armor that provides a secure slip-resistant grip even in cold and wet weather. To withstand the rigors of being exposed to the elements, the optical tubes are nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging.

Optical Performance
  • Moderate 8x power magnifies subjects while preserving a wide field of view
  • 25mm objective lenses help to produce a compact form factor
  • Roof prism optical path ensures a low-profile design that is easy to hold
  • High-index BAK4 prisms deliver a round exit pupil and a crisp and clear image with limited edge distortion
  • Anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics maximize light transmission for brighter views and improved color fidelity and contrast
  • Wide 60° apparent angle of view presents an immersive observational experience
  • Generous 429' field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
  • Closed bridge configuration provides a stable platform for the internal focusing mechanism
  • Low-profile center focusing wheel helps to maintain a compact form and minimizes snagging hazard
  • Right-eye dioptric correction allows users to compensate for optical prescription for sharper views
  • Broad 56-72mm interpupillary adjustment distance for easy use by a wide variety of people — especially those with narrow faces such as children and adolescents
  • Twist-up rubber eyecups for easy use with or without eyewear
  • 10mm eye relief
  • 3.1mm exit pupil
Construction Details
  • Environmentally friendly prisms and lenses feature Eco-Glass, which is made without lead or arsenic
  • Dual-hinge design allows the optical tubes to fold under the bridge when closed to minimize the form factor for easier storage and carrying
  • Lightweight and impact-resistant polycarbonate chassis
  • Chassis material is temperature resistant, preventing the expansion and contraction that is common with metal, which can cause the optical components to move out of alignment over time and prevent sharp focus
  • Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed to be waterproof and resistant to internal fogging when moving through extreme changes in temperature and environmental conditions
  • Protective rubber armor provides a slip-resistant grip
  • Lightweight 9.9 oz

8x25 Trailblazer ATB Binoculars is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 76.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Bang for the Buck! Use for birding, sporting events and general use. Totally compact and ultra light weight. Very wide field of view - easy to spot what you are focusing on. Fold up and fit in pocket or carry on your belt in provided case. Virtually no strain on neck after hours of wear. Waterproof, Nitrogen Filled and O-Ring sealed too. More than bright enough in daylight situations. I am totally happy with this purchase and the people at B&H could not be more helpful. If you are in NYC go to B&H - see Yosef at the binocular counter - he will take all the time you need and provide you with some of the best customer service you could ever imagine!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Value At under a C-note, the Nikon 8x25 Trailblazer ATB binoculars offers an unusually wide field of view, excellent build quality, very good optics, weather proofing (i.e waterproof), turn-to-adjust eyecup eye relief, effective diopter correction, easy fingertip focussing and compact size. It is the least expensive pair of binos I own and keeps up with all of them. In nitpicking mode, I've only noticed the following very slight imperfections: 1. Although the FOV is significantly wider that other 8x25 binos, the outer 10% of the image circle is not as sharp as the other 90%, 2. Lens caps are supplied only for the eyecups. That's about it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Terrific bargain When I opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised by how compact these binoculars are. The images are clear and very sharp at the centers; although the image loses a bit of bite around the edges, that's a very forgivable problem from a set of binoculars of this size and price. There are only two noticeable cons. First, there are no lens caps for the front elements, which means that you're essentially forced to use the provided case (which, admittedly, is well made and functional). Second, the eyecups twist up and down easily (including when popping on the rear lens caps), so there's some amount of fiddling that's necessary every time they're taken out for use. These aren't major problems, but they might be relevant for buyers with particular requirements. If those problems don't sound onerous, you should absolutely consider these for travel, hiking, or nearly anything. They're perfect for times when you might find binoculars useful, but don't wish to lug around a full-size model. As with cameras, the best binoculars are the ones you have with you, and you'll certainly want to have these with you at all times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great value I am a semi professional birder and use Swarovski myself. I purchased these for my grown daughter who has been wanting to have a pair that would be easy to take anywhere. For the price, these are great. They are very compact and very adjustable as far as eye width goes. B & H has the best price on these that I could find.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy I bought these as a gift for my girlfriend-we are both long distance backpackers, she is a bird enthusiast. She loves them, and actually, now I do too - enough to buy another pair and carry them for hundreds of miles (walking) at a time. Compared to our old set, these are very well built, have great optics, and the price was right. B&H was less expensive than REI, LL Bean, and any other online retailer. We have not used them in wet weather yet so I can't vouch for the waterproofing, but everything else meets and exceeds expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from High quality and affordable. This has better optical quality than most similarly priced binoculars. View is clear and bright. Not as bright as Travelite 9x25; but this one has a much wider view. I think it is good compromise, and it still is brighter than most other brands. Very nice. I don't think you will find any other binocular at a similar price point that will work better. The only significant improvement would be IS; and there is big price jump. Still, I would definitely get a stabilized unit if I were a heavy user. There is an annoying play in the focusing mechanism, but it is not loose. Travelite series do not have that play, but they are larger. I am absolutely happy with this unit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Nikon Binoculars I purchased the Nikon Trailblazer for use at sporting events and hiking. I was absolutely surprised at the quality of these binoculars, especially considering the affordable price point. They are very compact and lightweight, with a wide viewing angle, perfectly clear focus and have first rate optical quality.I have a different pair of compact binoculars, a much more expensive brand, but these have surpassed the other pair in handling, optical quality, and ease of use.No cons to report. Fantastic purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Binoculars for Travel We took these binoculars on a trip to Europe where we were planning to do some birdwatching. They are small and easy to pack, since we only do carry on when flying. Even though they are inexpensive the optics are so good that they easily performed as well as larger binoculars brought by our travel companions. We were able to spot and identify small birds at long distances. They are so light that arm fatigue is not a problem. The extra wide field feature enabled us to rapidly locate birds especially when they are on the move.
