The Nikon Retractable Rangefinder Tether, in basic black, was developed to help you safely manage the simultaneous use of binoculars and a ranging device. Its stainless steel spring retracts a 25" nylon-coated stainless steel cable into the case to keep a rangefinder or other accessory close at hand, yet secure and out of the way when not being used. Simply use the included split ring to attach the cable to your device or accessory and clip the tether's swivel carabiner onto a belt loop, a bag's MOLLE loop, or a backpack's shoulder strap D-ring, and you're good to go.

This is a good tether. I would lie to see about a longer cable that would allow use while attached to the golf bag. It is strong and well built.
Seems sturdy need to get it muddy now

Got this for my HALO 600 rangefinder, wanted something I can release and have it out of the way, but also near by when I need in a hurry. I wear my old military TA-50 LBE when hurting and have it clipped on the off hand shoulder harness - only concern will be once I get it muddy how the grit and mud will be handled if brought back on the cable during retract - the case is plastic, so also will cover in cloth tape to cut down on the noise made from it retracting - otherwise seems to be as advertised so far
