I'm getting too old to travel with my beloved AutoPoles, so my solution for multiple setups or large group shots: are (2) of my trusted 420b's with 272 crossbars AND my AutoPoles! Each being 12ft tall, and 10ft wide. I appreciate the heads up on the machine oil on the crossbars! It's there for a reason, I guess. B&H's price was $10.00 cheaper than Amazon on the same exact item. Combined with my AutoPoles, I feel confident that I can shoot a group of 15 or 20 people.

Does what it suppose to do!

Will this crossbar end caps fit inside the savage paper stops ??

The Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder (117") will accommodate the Savage Paper rolls. The ends will fit inside of the paper's core. One can expand the bar slightly past the length of the paper's length.

I'm looking for a pole that would hold a 30lb Vinyl backdrop. I did not see the load weight limit on this item, is it sturdy enough to hold such a backdrop?

I think the pole would work, would depend more on the stands you use, and how far you extend it.

Yes the holes on each end are 5/8 , which would allow it to fit over the stud on a Matthews C-stand.

Based on answers, I see that you have to remove the end pieces with an Allen wrench to insert a roll of seamless or muslin background, I can only loosen one of the Allen screws and can't get the end pieces off, is this normal?

How can you securely attach a silk or light blocking fabric that have velcro edges?

The easiest approach would be to use several of the Impact 2" Steel Spring A-Clamp (Black), BH # IMSSCA20B in order to secure the silk to this Manfrotto 272B Adjustable Background Holder. The amount of clamps you would actually need would depend on the width of the fabric.
